Helping Improve Manufacturing Performance
Review or Reflect
Wether you are reviewing a small improvement project, or a complete programme, reviews are generally not done well.
It is relatively easy to record what was achieved, and the temptation is then to move on to the next hurdle.
This is a mistake often made, and one that misses the opportunity to consider what might have been done better (and apply the learning to future projects), what was difficult (are there changes that can be made within the organisation to facilitate future projects), what was easy (and can that be reinforced for future projects).
Stage reviews are important to monitor progress against the plan, but a final review is an opportunity to embed the outcome, and ensure that improvements obtained can be sustained in the future, without high maintenance.
